Lynwood Unified Celebrates Opening of Special Education Parent Center

What began as a vision for stronger family support became a reality on January 30, when Lynwood Unified opened its Special Education Parent Center at Lugo Elementary School – a welcoming space for families and guardians of students with special needs across all grade levels.

Families, District leaders and staff gathered at the center to officially cut the ribbon and tour the new space, which will serve as an inclusive hub for family connection, learning and support. The Special Education Parent Center will offer workshops, specialized trainings and resources to help families better support their students’ academic, social and emotional success.

As part of the celebration, awards were presented to parents in recognition of their leadership and dedication to advocating for their students and strengthening the special education community within Lynwood Unified.

The opening of the Special Education Parent Center reflects the District’s continued commitment to partnering with families and ensuring all students have the support they need to thrive.
