Lynwood Unified to Host Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten Enrollment Meetings for Families

Lynwood Unified School District is now enrolling students for Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten (TK) for the 2026-27 school year, inviting families to take the first step in their child’s educational journey through engaging, high-quality early learning programs designed to inspire curiosity, creativity and confidence.

To support families during the enrollment process, Lynwood Unified elementary schools will host 24 information sessions across 12 school sites in February and March. Led by District educators and staff, the sessions will provide families with information about preschool, TK, Kindergarten and the District’s Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program, while offering opportunities to ask questions and learn about next steps.

Lynwood Unified offers a strong continuum of early childhood education, beginning with preschool and continuing through TK and Kindergarten, ensuring young learners are supported during their most critical years of development. During these critical early years, students build foundational skills in early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional learning through hands-on enrichment experiences and small-group instruction, setting the stage for long-term academic success.

In addition to traditional programs, Lynwood Unified offers a Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program at Mark Twain and Will Rogers elementary schools that supports biliteracy and bilingualism in English and Spanish. Open to all students starting in TK and Kinder – whether or not they are native Spanish speakers – the program allows students to learn and grow together while developing valuable language skills that benefit them academically, culturally and socially. The 2026-27 school year interest form is now open.
